Werk-Brau Tree Shear Tackles Cutting, Cleanup and Material Handling

Werk-Brau has rolled out a new line of Tree Shear attachments, designed to cut, grip, rotate, stack and manage trees with greater control in demanding applications.
The TS Series shears feature continuous 360-degree rotation, a Hardox cutting blade, felling support, Bluetooth rotation control, grapple functionality and Werk-Brau’s eBoost hydraulic technology.
Models are available for excavators ranging from 3 to 20 tons, as well as skid steers, compact track loaders, compact and full-size wheel loaders, and 1.3 to 21-metric-ton telehandlers.
Depending on the size, the attachment can cut trees between 8 and 12.5 inches in diameter. Once the tree is cut, the attachment’s continuous 360-degree rotation allows operators to precisely place trees into manageable piles. This is especially helpful, Werk-Brau says, when working along roadsides, fence rows, field edges, utility corridors, fire prevention areas, and storm cleanup sites where space, safety and productivity are vital.
A removable Hardox cutting blade allows the attachment to be used as both a tree shear and a grapple. The blade can be sharpened while installed on the machine or removed for off-site sharpening. When the cutting blade is removed, operators can use the attachment for grapple-style handling, providing a one-tool solution to cut trees, hold material, rotate continuously, stack debris, and handle brush or storm-damaged material.
A felling support system helps operators better manage trees during cutting and placement. Rotation is controlled through a Bluetooth-connected switch, and the system requires only one set of dual-acting hydraulic lines to run, making it easier to pair with a wide range of machines, the company says.
Werk-Brau also equipped the Tree Shears with its eBoost technology, designed to accelerate the movement of hydraulic attachments and machinery without sacrificing power. The system automatically controls oil flow and pressure in real time, sending force where it is needed to improve speed, control and fuel efficiency. This helps the attachment work more smoothly through repetitive clearing tasks and reduce repositioning.
“Customers are looking for attachments that help them work faster, stay in control of the material and get more done with the equipment they already have,” said Trevor Ballinger, vice president of sales at Werk-Brau. “The Werk-Brau Tree Shear brings cutting, handling, rotation and grapple-style versatility into one attachment, giving contractors and equipment owners a practical way to take on more forestry and land clearing work with less switching and more control.”
Werk-Brau Tree Shears are built in Finland from Hardox steel. They are available through Werk-Brau’s nationwide network of dealers and supported by a forestry product manager based in Findlay, Ohio.
