Kito Crosby has been awarded a contract to design and supply Crosby Fairlead and Horizontal Block systems with a rated capacity of 600 tons, destined for an 800-tonne riser pull-in package for a new Floating Production Unit (FPU) in the Gulf of Mexico.
The award was made in Q4 2025 and will be delivered in collaboration with Maritime Developments (MDL) and the undisclosed client, an international energy major.
Kito Crosby’s selection was due to its fatigue-resistant design that could meet tight space, weight, and interface constraints on the FPU, while still delivering the required high-capacity load-handling performance.
Key differentiators include the proven performance of high-capacity fairlead and block systems, a compact and weight-efficient design suited to topside constraints, and strong reliability under dynamic offshore loads. The package is built to meet offshore standards and customer specifications, with engineering, manufacturing, and delivery planned to match the wider FPU construction and installation schedule. Designed for long-term integrity, the systems also support safe handling during critical offshore operations.
