Develon Expands Electric Excavator Range With DX23E-7 Compact Model

Develon has added the DX23E-7 to its electric line-up, offering up to 40 kWh of battery capacity. The company targets construction sites and rental companies operating in noise-sensitive areas where low noise levels or night-time work are required.

Develon has launched the new DX23E-7 electric mini-excavator. The new machine offers a higher battery capacity of 32 kWh, with the additional option to order a higher-capacity 40 kWh version, equipped with a 16 kW rated electric motor. The DX23ZE-7 also offers optional quick-coupler piping for a range of attachments.

“It offers great advantages over the diesel counterpart due to less noise and no emissions, as compact equipment, such as mini-excavators, has a higher tendency to work in cities and residential areas, where it has proximity to other workers and the public.”

As Stephane Dieu, Excavators Product Manager for Europe at Develon, affirmed. The new addition to Develon’s electric excavator range delivers eight hours of runtime (depending on the application) with the standard 32 kWh battery. The charge to 100% takes 6–10 hours using 3 kW/6 kW AC charging, or 1.5 hours with 15 kW fast charging. With the 40 kWh battery, the working time should increase to 10 hours. A full charge takes 7 to 12 hours on normal charging or 2.5 hours to 80% using 15 kW fast charging.

Its lifting capacity has been increased by 5%, and its stability has been improved. The new mini-excavator features an upgraded Electric Power System (EPS), which no longer uses the DX19-7 frame cross plate. The machine increases the rear swing radius by 35 mm to provide space for the battery pack.

The new machine delivers strong performance in confined spaces thanks to its retractable tracks. Once the excavator reaches the work area, the operator can expand the tracks for improved stability and lifting capacity.
