Silas Morgan, who has run Brokk demolition robots since 2008, becomes training and application specialist for North America

Remote-controlled demolition machines are only as productive as the people operating them. Brokk, the manufacturer of electric remote-controlled demolition machines, has turned to one of its most experienced users to strengthen that link in North America. Silas Morgan, who has worked with Brokk robots since 2008, joins the company as training and application specialist for the region.

Based in South Carolina, Morgan will provide on-site support, training and aftersales assistance to Brokk customers across North America. His tasks include commissioning new machines, teaching customers how to operate them and advising on maintenance to maximise uptime. He will also visit jobsites to help customers choose the Brokk machine best suited to their application.

Morgan brings nearly 20 years of hands-on experience in a wide range of applications, including tunnels, refractory removal, furnace cleanouts, demolition and steel mills. He has worked both as an operator and as a project manager.

“Silas carries great knowledge of how Brokk robots work on just about every jobsite,” said Jeff Keeling, Brokk’s vice president of sales and marketing. “He’s going to be a great fit for our team, and our customers will benefit immensely from his knowledge and passion for teaching people about the machines.”

For Morgan, the move is personal. “I’ve been obsessed with Brokk machines since I was 17, and that hasn’t gone away,” he said. “I’ve broken a lot of machines and fixed a lot of machines.”

For contractors in demolition, tunnelling and industrial maintenance, having a specialist who has worked in the same conditions on hand for training and troubleshooting can shorten the learning curve on new machines and keep them working on demanding sites.
