Mollo Noleggio Climbs 17 Places in the World Rental League, and Plans a €170 Million Push
Italy's Mollo Noleggio is in the IRN 100 for the second year and has moved up 17 places, backed by a €170 million investment plan to 2027. Mollo Noleggio Climbs 17 Places in the World Rental League, and Plans a €170 Million Push published on The HeavyQuip Magazine.
The Alba-based company, the first Italian rental specialist to enter the IRN 100, has held its place for a second year and wants 100 branches by the end of 2027
One entry in a ranking is a milestone. A second, 17 places higher, is a trend. Mollo Noleggio has been included in the IRN 100 for the second consecutive year and has climbed 17 places, according to the company.
A ranking with weight
The IRN 100 is compiled each year by International Rental News, the official magazine of the European Rental Association (ERA). It lists the top 100 operators worldwide by turnover in the rental of vehicles and equipment for construction, industry and events.
Mollo Noleggio entered the 2025 edition as the first Italian company specialising exclusively in rental to appear. Staying in, and moving up sharply, turns that debut into a stable presence. “Being included in the IRN 100 for the second consecutive year and seeing our ranking improve so significantly is a source of great satisfaction,” said Mauro Mollo, Group Chairman.
Where the money goes
Founded in Alba in 1971 and led by brothers Mauro and Roberto Mollo, the group describes itself as Italy’s leading operator specialising in the hire of machinery and equipment for construction, industry, logistics, agriculture and events.
Its 2026-2027 business plan envisages total investments of €170 million. They are earmarked for fleet expansion, new branches and strategic acquisitions. Over the same period the company plans to recruit more than 200 people, bringing the workforce to 1,000 by the end of 2027, and to grow its network to 100 rental centres.
Why it matters
For equipment manufacturers and dealers, a rental group growing fleet and branches at this pace is also a major buyer. For contractors, a wider network means more machines available closer to the jobsite. The plan’s weight rests on execution: the ranking shows the starting point, and the next IRN edition will show whether the investment translates into turnover.
