Infocus International is organising a virtual workshop on Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), starting 17 August 2026.

Overview

Infrastructure needs are rising across sectors, from roads and airports to schools, hospitals and housing. At the same time, constrained public budgets, economic uncertainty and fiscal deficits often delay or limit delivery. In this context, several countries have developed PPP programmes to mobilise private capital and expertise for public infrastructure. This workshop focuses on practical “how-to” methods for analysing, structuring and managing PPP transactions.

Key learning outcomes

Participants will learn to:

• Use international case studies of successful PPP transactions and recognise common pitfalls to avoid
• Design and manage PPP legal, regulatory and institutional frameworks that support investor participation and transaction completion
• Apply models for preparing PPP feasibility studies
• Understand project financing requirements and assess PPP financial models for affordability and bankability
• Evaluate credit enhancement techniques, including blended financing, viability gap funding (VGF), partial guarantees, risk insurance products, output-based aid (OBA) and other instruments
• Build PPP transaction implementation plans and oversee transaction advisors through commercial and financial close
• Work with PPP tender documentation models, including Project Information Memoranda (InfoMemos), RFQs and RFPs
• Review international approaches to PPP contracts and agreements
• Apply environmental and social impact mitigation techniques to support sustainable private investment in public infrastructure
• Manage PPP contracts over the long term, including technical performance, service quality, price review and adjustment models, legal contract management and alternative dispute resolution (ADR)
