Shaping the Future of Sheet Metal Manufacturing in India

1. Briefly introduce your company and outline the key metal forming machines, technologies,or solutions you offer to the sheet metal industry.

Amada India, established in 2000, is a 100% subsidiary of Amada Co. Ltd., a Japanese major manufacturer of metalworking and sheet-metal machinery. Amada Group is a global leader in manufacturing sheet metal fabrication machines and various other metalworking machinery.

Amada India focuses mainly on providing direct sales and service support to Indian customers. The company was first to establish direct sales and service centre in year 2000. We have supplied more than 5000 plus machines including Punching, Bending, Laser, Welding, and Automation products.

In year 2014, a Technical Center with Vocational center was established in Aerospace Park – Bangalore near Airport to support our customers. Since then this center has welcomed thousands of customers and trainees who were trained by our experienced VC trainers.

Our vision is to contribute towards making India as world’s technology and manufacturing hub.

2. What are the standout machines or systems in your portfolio, and how do they addresscurrent challenges such as productivity, precision, automation, or cost efficiency?

Amada India has always introduced new machines and technology from IMTEX platform for benefit of Indian sheet metal industry. Our customers have immensely benefited from the know how we acquire from Amada group.

At IMTEX 2026, customers can expect a launch of a very powerful Fiber Laser machine which will provide solution for companies looking to create a solid foundation for their first step into the world of high speed, precision laser cutting. It creates a perfect starting point for any manufacturer, with available power levels from 3 to 8kW and a whole range of advanced technology and features, allowing it to fit into many production environments. The new machine comes fully equipped with a large number of features designed to improve cutting quality, reliability and ease-of-use.

Looking at severe skills shortage within press brake operation we are launching Bending machine automation. The new Bending machine is equipped with many futuristic functions like AMNC 4ie controller with voice control and VPSS 4ie offline programming.

The new press brake is completely servo controlled equipped with an asymmetric dynamic crowning device that allows the operator to bend at any point along the beam, with consistent and accurate results. The servo technology also reduces maintenance and machine downtime.

3. What key trends do you see shaping the global and Indian metal forming and sheet metalindustry today (e.g., automation, digitalization, sustainability, smart factories)?

Awareness for automation is increasing among Indian Sheetmetal suppliers. This is mainly due to unavailability of skilled manpower. Amada’s entry level automation like AMG – Series manipulator provides basic effective blanking automation with shortest ROI. We are working on to introduce next level automation which can realise 24X7 operation with one of the best ROI.

4. What recent innovations, new products, or technological solutions has your company launched in the past few years? How do these offerings add value to customers?

Fiber Laser machines are becoming first choice of any sheet metal shop due to its low maintenance and high productivity advantages. Amada has been working and made a breakthrough innovation by upgrading its patented LBC technology by launching 9kW Fiber Laser to outperform any material processing from thin to thick from ferrous to non-ferrous material processed in a sheet metal shop.

LBC is an abbreviation for Locus Beam Control technology. This is the world’s first technology that enables free control of the laser beam trajectory. Various beam trajectories can be selected according to the application and purpose, and by combining with a high-brightness oscillator. 4kW, 6kW and 9kW has achieved best-in-class performance by maximising the capabilities.

The other advantages of this LBC technology are –

  1. High quality beam realized by a single module high brightness oscillator.
  2. Controls the beam locus “freely”, and cutting with an optimal trajectory pattern according to the material.
  3. Newly developed NC equipment AMNC 4ie based on the concepts of four “E” – Easy, Efficiency, Environmental, Evolution.
  4. Function to support levelling and stable process of work without stopping the machine.
  5. High efficiency oscillator reduces electricity costs. Maintenance costs are also minimised.

5. What machines, technologies, or live demonstrations will you be exhibiting at IMTEX Forming 2026? What can visitors expect to see at your booth?

We are showcasing quite a few technological advancements during IMTEX 2026 show which will benefit our customers to reduce wastage and increase productivity.

We are also demonstrating live Combination machine and Fiber Laser welding machine.

Our press brakes are equipped with Angle sensing and correcting mechanism Bi-S which further corrects the angles during bending process.

VPSS4ie Bend PLUS software reduces the skill or dependency on bending operator to a great extent. The software takes care of bending sequence, tool selection, setup reduction and programming. The role of bending operator is reduced to only holding of the blank.

This year visitors can expect complete sheet metal fabrication solutions right from Blanking, Bending, Welding, Automation, Press forming under one roof. Amada group companies are coming together to offer diverse technology by showcasing a perfect synergy.

6. How do you envision the future of the Indian metal forming and sheet metal industry over the next 5–10 years, and what role will your company play in that growth?

Indian sheet metal industry is growing at very healthy growth rate of 5 – 7 % CAGR which will further improve with positive outcome of geopolitical issues. Requirement of factory automation equipment will grow as it is difficult to find skilled manpower. Amada India has recognised this requirement and we are making our plans for expansion and we are going to start manufacturing activities soon to cater this ever-rising demand.
