GIC 2026, Italy’s specialist trade show for concrete, aggregates, demolition and recycling, will take place at Piacenza Expo from 16 to 18 April 2026. The organisers say 228 exhibitors are confirmed, including more than 60 international companies, alongside an expanded show footprint.
The event, officially titled GIC – Giornate Italiane del Calcestruzzo e degli Inerti da Costruzione e Demolizione, positions itself as a business-focused exhibition and conference for the full concrete supply chain, from production and placing to restoration, precast, continuous flooring, demolition and inert materials handling.
Market backdrop: revenues up in 2024, growth expected to cool in 2026
A sector snapshot cited by the event points to a solid 2024 for Italy’s concrete supply chain. According to an analysis by Nomisma for Federbeton, the sector generated more than EUR 17.1 billion in revenues in 2024, up 7.0 per cent year on year, with value added around EUR 5.2 billion, up 6.9 per cent, and employment above 43,600 people.
The same source notes production growth averaging 3.9 per cent in 2025, supported by public works linked to Italy’s PNRR programme, with expectations of slower growth of 1.6 per cent in 2026 as that boost fades and the industry looks for continuity in infrastructure investment.
“GIC confirms itself not only as the showcase of the best solutions for the supply chain, but also as a privileged observatory to understand the technological, economic and regulatory dynamics that trace its development”
said Fabio Potestà, Director of Mediapoint & Exhibitions.
“The data give us back the image of a solid and growing sector, capable of generating value and employment. This year’s programme offers operators concrete tools to seize the opportunities of technological innovation and the energy transition.”

Bridges and tunnels: inspection and monitoring move to centre stage
With a large share of infrastructure projects still in execution ahead of key funding deadlines, GIC 2026 is putting bridge and tunnel inspection and monitoring into the conference spotlight, with an explicit focus on safety practices for critical infrastructure.
That theme runs through a three-day programme that mixes technical sessions with a broader discussion around sustainability, digital workflows and jobsite energy transition.
