The deal brings an Italian hose and fittings specialist into Danfoss Power Solutions, strengthening a business that sits at the heart of mobile hydraulics, mining, marine and industrial machinery.
Danfoss’ agreement to acquire Alfagomma is a bet on a critical layer of the hydraulics value chain, where global availability, application know-how and manufacturing scale are becoming increasingly important for OEMs, dealers and fleet operators.
Danfoss announced on July 9 that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Alfagomma, the Vimercate, Italy-based manufacturer and distributor of hydraulic and industrial hoses and fittings. Once completed, the company will become part of the Fluid Conveyance division within Danfoss Power Solutions, creating a larger global platform for customers in mobile hydraulics, industrial equipment and other demanding applications.
The move comes as construction equipment, mining machinery, agricultural machines, marine systems and industrial fleets are under pressure to deliver higher uptime, lower total cost of ownership and stronger service support across multiple regions. Fluid conveyance components are central to that equation. They connect pumps, valves, cylinders and actuators, and they must withstand pressure, vibration, contamination, temperature variation and harsh jobsite conditions.
For Danfoss, Alfagomma adds scale and reach in a segment the group has already been reinforcing. In its 2025 annual review, Danfoss reported EUR 9.4 billion in sales and highlighted the acquisition of hose fittings manufacturer Hydro Holding as part of its effort to strengthen fluid conveyance for mobile and industrial hydraulics, as well as data center applications. The Alfagomma deal pushes that strategy further, adding a long-established Italian player with a broad industrial footprint.
Founded in 1956, Alfagomma manufactures and distributes hoses and fittings under the ALFAGOMMA, Dunlop Hiflex and Argus brands. Its products are used across mobile hydraulics, mining, oil & gas, marine, shipbuilding and other industrial sectors. According to Danfoss, Alfagomma has 28 production and assembly sites, about 4,500 employees and annual sales of approximately EUR 600 million.
That industrial base is the core of the strategic fit. Danfoss Power Solutions’ Fluid Conveyance division already manufactures hoses and fittings for vehicles, aircraft, marine, mining, food and beverage, mobile and industrial equipment, and other applications. By adding Alfagomma, Danfoss expands not only product capacity but also application coverage in markets where local availability and technical support can influence machine uptime.
“The acquisition of Alfagomma is a significant milestone for Danfoss and an important strategic step in executing our long-term strategy,” said Kim Fausing, President and CEO of Danfoss. “By bringing together these two businesses, we form a leading global player in fluid conveyance, giving us complementary capabilities, greater scale, and the global presence needed to better serve all our customers and accelerate future growth.”
Daniel Winter, President of Danfoss Power Solutions, described the two businesses as highly complementary, with limited overlap. He said Alfagomma would add expertise in industrial applications such as oil & gas and mining, two sectors where hose assemblies and fittings are exposed to severe duty cycles and demanding safety requirements.
For contractors, rental companies and fleet owners, the practical impact will depend on how the integration is executed after closing. A broader fluid conveyance platform could improve product availability, standardization and service coverage, especially for customers operating mixed fleets or working across multiple regions. For OEMs, the combination may offer a wider engineering and manufacturing base for hydraulic systems designed for construction, quarrying, agriculture, marine and industrial machinery.
Domenico Traverso, President of Fluid Conveyance at Danfoss Power Solutions, said the combination brings together manufacturing, distribution and application know-how.
“Alfagomma is one of the most respected names in our industry,” he said. “By bringing together two businesses with complementary strengths, we are creating a leading global player in the hose and fittings industry.”
The transaction also has a continuity angle for Alfagomma. The Board of Receivers said the deal followed a structured process aimed at preserving business continuity and securing long-term value for the company and its stakeholders. The receivers, appointed at the end of May 2025, said Danfoss represented an industrial partner able to support Alfagomma’s operations, people and industrial base.
The acquisition remains subject to the necessary approvals and is expected to close by the fourth quarter of 2026. Until then, Danfoss and Alfagomma will continue to operate independently, with both companies emphasizing business continuity and customer service during the transition.
Beyond the transaction itself, the deal signals how strategic the hydraulics supply chain has become. As heavy-duty machines become more productive, more connected and increasingly electrified, the components that move fluids safely and reliably through those systems remain essential. Danfoss is positioning itself to own more of that layer.
