Steelwrist used the Manufacturing Express stop in Connecticut to put its machining, assembly and testing capacity on display

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers’ Manufacturing Express has visited plenty of factories. On 28 September it made its first stop at a tiltrotator manufacturer: Steelwrist’s North American headquarters in Newington, Connecticut.

What visitors saw

The stop was part of AEM’s 2026 Northeast tour. Steelwrist showed its latest tiltrotator technology and its fully automatic quick coupler solutions, and walked attendees through the site. The facility brings warehousing, technical support, training, machining, assembly and product testing together under one roof.

That mix is the real story. Steelwrist is presenting the Newington site as more than a distribution point: it now carries out machining, assembly and product testing locally.

A local commitment

“Welcoming the AEM Manufacturing Express to Newington was a great opportunity to recognize the team behind our growth in North America,” said Peter Gaj, VP Region Americas at Steelwrist Inc. “In recent years, we have continued to invest in our people and our local capabilities, and today machining, assembly and product testing are all part of our operations here in Connecticut.”

Gaj added that the visit let the company show how its technology helps contractors work more safely and efficiently, and demonstrate a long-term commitment to the U.S. market.

For excavator owners and dealers, local assembly and testing can mean shorter supply lines and faster technical support, though the company has not detailed volumes or lead times.
