The 1-2 October auction in northern Italy offers 165 excavators, 370 aerial platforms and 90 tractors, just as contractors start planning their 2027 fleets
Autumn is when many European contractors look at their fleets and decide what to replace before the year closes. Ritchie Bros. is timing its biggest Italian sale of the season to match.
The company will hold an unreserved auction on 1 and 2 October at its yard in Caorso, in the province of Piacenza, with more than 3,000 items on offer. It is the last stop of Super September, a campaign of 11 auctions in 10 EMEA countries during the month.
What is on sale
The catalogue spans construction, lifting, agriculture and transport. Among the items already listed:
- more than 950 construction and road-building machines, including 165 excavators and 60 wheel and skid steer loaders;
- more than 530 lifting machines, including 70 telehandlers, 90 forklifts and over 370 aerial work platforms;
- more than 390 agricultural machines and implements, including 90 tractors;
- more than 320 trucks, commercial vehicles and cars, including a batch of 2024 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 311CDI vans.
Highlighted lots include a 2023 Sany SW405K5 wheel loader with 540 hours, a 2025 Scania Super 460S tractor unit, a never-used 2026 Magni TH5.8-D7/D-1 telehandler with manufacturer warranty, and a 2019 McCormick X8.680 VT Drive tractor with 1,340 hours.
How the auction works
Every lot sells to the highest bidder, with no minimum or reserve price. The online catalogue is updated daily with descriptions, photos and videos. Bidding opens on 26 September, and machines can be inspected at the Caorso yard on 29 and 30 September, from 8:30 to 16:30. Bidding closes on 1 and 2 October at staggered times by lot number.

For buyers, an unreserved sale of this size is a quick way to add capacity, or to find the one missing machine for a project, at market prices. For sellers, the Super September window puts equipment in front of an international audience at a key moment in the calendar.
