GENERATION C² round-shank picks have been developed specifically for milling concrete with Wirtgen ECO Cutter milling drums. They are ideal for the removal of large areas of concrete pavement and feature a reduced number of round-shank picks and larger tool spacings. The reduced number of picks increases the force applied by each individual pick, which in turn increases the machine advance rate. And precisely this is what maximises area performance. Optimised pick centring ensures that milling forces are ideally concentrated in the top part of the holder and relieves mechanical loading on the clamping sleeve. The new, short clamping sleeve geometry minimises mechanical loading on the clamping sleeve and assures optimal clamping force throughout the entire service life. The optimised shank geometry increases resistance to fracturing, The unique grooved profile of the wear plate with its innovative centring function reduces wear and increases the service life of round-shank picks and toolholders.
