On January 31, 2026, following regulatory approval by the European Commission, Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) completed the acquisition of Swecon from Lantmännen.
The agreement was announced in June 2025, when Volvo CE stated it had reached a deal with Lantmännen to acquire Swecon, a company with operations in Sweden, Germany, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, as well as Entrack.
With the acquisition now confirmed as completed, Swecon can be considered fully part of the Volvo CE group. The transaction includes Swecon’s entire business scope: sales of products and services, rental operations, aftermarket services and support, offices, workshop facilities and around 1,400 employees.
Swecon’s new head: Tomas Kuta

Tomas Börjesson has decided to retire, and Tomas Kuta will take over, having been appointed the new Head of Swecon. Tomas Kuta was already part of Volvo CE, most recently serving as Head of Volvo CE Sales Asia, and he will assume the role on March 1, 2026.
For Volvo CE, the deal is described as a strategic move to further invest in and strengthen its retail operations in key European markets, making retail a central element of Volvo CE in Europe.
“We are excited to welcoming all employees from Swecon to Volvo and we believe that together, we will be stronger and better equipped to continue to enhance the support to our customers in their transition towards more sustainable and productive solutions”
Said Melker Jernberg, Head of Volvo CE.
“By joining forces, Swecon combines its market expertise with Volvo CE’s innovation power, while customers continue to receive the same trusted support, services, and points of contact – now strengthened to help them succeed today and tomorrow”
Added Tomas Börjesson, Head of Swecon
Swecon is now fully integrated into Volvo CE following the transaction’s closing.
