Continental has named Alex White national sales manager for material handling and port operations across the UK and Ireland, bringing two fast growing tyre segments under one lead role.
White has been with Continental since 2015 and has worked across the company’s truck, speciality, and material handling lines. In his new position, he will focus on supporting fleets and equipment operators in ports, terminals, warehouses and industrial sites, where uptime and tyre performance are tightly linked to operating cost.
“Merging responsibility for material handling and port operations tyres is a good strategic move given the significant synergies between the two product groups. I’m excited to already be building upon my tyre industry experience, contacts and knowledge to meet customer demand.”
Said White.
The appointment comes as UK ports handle rising throughput and as infrastructure and industrial projects continue to generate demand for handling equipment, terminal tractors, reach stackers and other port-related vehicles. White expects this to translate into a strong sales pipeline through 2026.
“There is a sense of optimism for this year” he added, pointing to increased activity at ports and ongoing construction and expansion work that relies on industrial vehicles and dependable tyre supply.
Rebecca Shedden, general sales manager, commercial tyres UK and Ireland at Continental, said White’s mix of product knowledge and customer relationships makes him well-positioned to expand.
