CNH Industrial's new Cesena plant officially opened
The new facility, thanks to major investments, will become strategic for the production of compact construction machinery, including electric models. The inauguration follows the opening of additional facilities in San Piero in Bagno. A new CNH Industrial plant dedicated to the production of mini-excavators up to 2 tons, including electric models and mini track loaders was inaugurated today in Cesena. The opening ceremony was held in the presence of Vincenzo Colla, Councillor for Economic Development of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Enzo Lattuca, Mayor of Cesena and President of the Province of Forlì-Cesena, Stefano Pampalone, CNH Industrial Construction President and Federico Bullo, Head of Construction Europe. At the inauguration, Stefano Pampalone announced a donation worth EUR 500,000 to civil protection, confirming the company's commitment to the Cesena area and its proximity to the communities affected by the recent flooding. Thanks to the acquisition of Sampierana Spa, which took place at the end of 2021, and the subsequent investments by CNH Industrial, the Cesena plant, inaugurated this week, will be able to better manage the increase in production volumes, supporting and woking alongside the historical site in San Piero in Bagno, which with its 14,000 m2 houses the administrative offices, the design hub and an R&D centre specialising in the electrification and production of compact machines. A plant of excellence that as of yesterday also has a new canteen, was inaugurated by CNH Industrial management in the presence of the deputy mayor of Bagno di Romagna, Enrico Spighi. CNH's industrial capability, strongly rooted in the region, now has more than 400 employees between San Piero in Bagno and Cesena, 60% of whom are under 35 years of age. It also boasts the design and development of products that have always been a point of reference in the sector, appreciated internationally and exported all over the world under the brands CASE Construction Equipment, New Holland Construction and Eurocomach. Vincenzo Colla commented: “Today's inauguration represents an important investment for our region and has a strong symbolic value for this area, which is ready to restart and compete in the global market. The new plant, a Center of Excellence for compact construction machines, is testament to the quality of our skilled workforce, together with the vision of a large multinational with solid roots in the local area, that is always looking to the future.” "Thanks to the skills, the degree of innovation, the passion and the commitment of the people of Cesena and San Piero in Bagno, we are continuing our strategy of international development and strengthening the Construction segment in key markets,” said Pampalone. “Our decision to commence operations during this difficult time for the region, marks our company’s commitment to supporting a return to business activities in the area and aiding the communities affected by the floods.” Federico Bullo stated: "When it acquired this industrial facility at the end of 2021, CNH Industrial set out to make it grow further by investing in technology, research and development and, above all, in people. The recent inauguration of the canteen in San Piero and the one in Cesena today are tangible proof of the that commitment." The morning ended with a tour of the new plant and a presentation of the machines, including the new fully electric 1.5 tonne mini-excavator that continues CNH Industrial's construction equipment electrification strategy and will soon be joined by the larger 2.5 ton model. The two models will cover the two most important segments of the market, with a view to sustainability and reduced environmental impact. Powered by Induportals Media Publishing
