CHIRON India’s Vision for Intelligent Manufacturing

What does “intelligent manufacturing” mean to you, and how is your organization contributing to this transformation?

Intelligent manufacturing at the CHIRON Group means integrating state-of-the-art technologies such as CNC machining centers, automation solutions, digital solutions and sustainability. Our high-precision machines offer flexibility and efficiency in the processing of complex tasks. Production processes are continuously optimized through automation and digital systems. Real-time data analysis and predictive maintenance improve production performance and reduce downtime. In addition, the CHIRON Group helps to conserve resources and promote sustainability with energy-efficient machines and intelligent systems.

Can you share a recent breakthrough or initiative that helped empower your customers or channel partners in a significant way?

We supported Landeron a Swiss watch manufacturer. By investing in a micro-machining center from the CHIRON Group, the company has taken a decisive step: the design process is becoming more sustainable, faster and remains uncompromisingly high quality. A success story of passion and technical finesse.

How is your company embracing sustainability in machining – from materials to energy and lifecycle design?

The CHIRON Group has set itself the aim of ensuring climate-neutral* production in the coming year 2025 (Scope 1 and 2). To achieve this goal, the corporate group follows a roadmap at all sites, which is clearly focused on the issue of electricity. This is associated with investments in energy efficiency projects and the expansion of PV systems to increase the own generation of electricity. The conversion to green power, planned worldwide from 2025, will have the biggest impact on achieving this goal.

Further we offer software solutions like the “CHIRON Power Save”, which enables customers to shutdown machines when they are not operative. If the machine is used again the machine starts itself according to a programmed schedule and starts a warmup cycle. This enables customers to start production once the worker starts its shift.

What role are MSMEs and local suppliers playing in your machine tool ecosystem, and how are you enabling their growth?

Localization and local suppliers have really supported us in our machine building.  CHIRON Group started sourcing in 2017 with 1-2 vendors and as of date we have developed more than 12 vendors supplying machined casting to precision mill turn parts.

How do you see digital technologies (like AI, IoT, or digital twins) redefining machine tool applications in the next 3–5 years?

At the CHIRON Group we offer such technologies already today, to the benefit of the customer. E.g. the ProtectLine provides your machining center with reliable protection in every mode of operation, preventing collisions that may arise, for example, from errors or faulty NC programming. Central to the system is a digital twin, which runs ahead of the real machine. In the event of a machine crash, the digital twin will be the first to collide, meaning the machining center can be safely shut down in good time. This means potentially major damage and production downtime can be reliably avoided, which in turn increases availability and productivity.

Talent is a core driver of future-ready manufacturing. How are you re-skilling or upskilling your workforce for the new era?

The CHIRON Group is the future, in every sense: As a strong group, we are in a leading position worldwide – with machining centers made in Germany for highly productive vertical milling and turning. We supply complete solutions for metal machining and provide impressive services and innovative product ranges for automation and digitalization. We have become strong thanks to our experienced experts, and we will remain strong with the experts of tomorrow. Our trainers teach comprehensive, practice-based skills, and can expand knowledge on our innovative online learning platform. Thanks to our professional, innovative concepts and methods, we have been awarded the »Deutschlands beste Ausbildungsbetriebe« (Germany’s best training companies) seal six years in a row – and our trainees have achieved excellent rankings in European and world championships for CNC milling.
