Bobcat R-Series Evolution: AI Meets Heavy Metal
Smarter R-Series loaders and AI-powered "Jobsite Companion" technology redefine operator control and jobsite efficiency for a changing workforce. www.bobcat.com As the construction industry faces a shrinking pool of experienced labor, Bobcat is leaning into technology to lower the learning curve. The new R-Series lineup—including the flagship T86-2 with a massive 115 hp—features a redesigned electrical architecture and a completely refreshed cabin. Operators now have access to a glove-friendly 8-inch touchscreen and four distinct drive modes (Balanced, Agile, Dynamic, and Charged), allowing the machine’s responsiveness to be tailored to the specific task or the driver’s skill level. Beyond physical comfort like heated air-ride seats, the real "brain" of the new lineup is the Jobsite Companion. This industry-first AI solution allows operators to use voice commands to automate over 50 machine functions. It even features a job-cost dashboard that tracks fuel and labor in real-time against original estimates. To further de-risk the site, the Bobcat Sense radar and camera systems can identify bystanders and even automatically stop the machine to avoid rear-end collisions. Looking toward a cab-less future, Bobcat also showcased the RogueX3 concept. This fully electric, autonomous loader is entirely modular, meaning it can be configured with wheels or tracks and operates without a traditional driver’s station. While the RogueX3 explores the horizon, the refreshed R-Series models are ready for the here-and-now, with European orders opening this March. By integrating AI and Service.AI diagnostic tools, Bobcat is ensuring that even as the workforce changes, productivity on the jobsite never slows down. www.bobcat.com Powered by Induportals Media Publishing
