It’s almost October, which means that Halloween is just around the corner! It’s time to put up those decorations and prepare for some trick-or-treating. Whether you or someone you know is absolutely obsessed with Halloween, you’ll be able to find some Made in America options to help you celebrate.
Costumes
Unfortunately, virtually all Halloween costumes on the market are imported. Since these costumes are intended to be worn only once or twice, they can often be cheaply and poorly made. However, a costume doesn’t just have to be for Halloween. If you have little ones, a high-quality costume can be a great investment for years of imaginative play. The limited selection of Made in USA costumes from Bella Luna Toys are just that. Although there are only a few options, they are extremely cute. My favorite is this reversible dragon and knight costume—two costumes for the price of one! Remember to filter by Made in USA, as not all of the costumes sold by Bella Luna are domestically made. As a bonus, you can also check out their other products made in the US: they have a really cool selection of wooden toys as well!
Cookie Cutters
If you’re anything like me, half the fun of holidays is baking seasonally appropriate treats. For Halloween and beyond, Ann Clark Cookie Cutters has you covered. There’s plenty of fun designs to choose from: ghosts, bats, witch hats and more. You can also browse through the many other holiday themed cookie cutters available. There’s your typical Christmas and Valentine’s Day options, but you can find Mardi Gras, New Year’s, and even Labor Day themed cookie cutters! And all of these cookie cutters are Made in Vermont!
Dishware
West Virginia’s Fiesta Ware has been iconic since 1936 for their simple, colorful plates. However, they also make some special, decorated plates for fall and Halloween. These plates range from understated with some leaf decorations to these extremely adorable pumpkin plates. As someone who grew up in a Fiesta Ware household, I can attest to their extremely high quality, meaning you’ll be able to pass down these plates for generations to come. And, much like Ann Clark, you can check them out come winter as well for holiday themed plates!
Home Decor
Last year, we featured Schooner Bay Company and their struggle against companies like Temu, Amazon, and Tractor Supply Co., who stole their Headless Horsemen decoration design and sold foreign-produced knockoffs. We wanted to continue to support Schooner Bay by shouting them out again! Although not everything Schooner Bay sells is Made in the USA, many of their Halloween products are manufactured in East Berlin, Penn. These unique and vintage-inspired home decor pieces are a classy addition to any Halloween collection.
Yard Decor
One of the most classic parts about Halloween is yard decorating for trick-or-treaters. These simple but charming options from Front Yard Originals are a great option. There’s nothing too scary available, but the zombies, skeletons, bats and more available will add some spooky flair to your house. As soon as Halloween ends, you can come back to Front Yard Originals for Christmas decorations since that’s their main focus.
Super Scary Expensive Decorations
Are you 100% obsessed with Halloween? Do you go all out with genuinely scary decor every year? If you’re willing to spend some money, check out Distortions Unlimited. Although their props are catered more towards the professional haunted house market, an extremely committed home decorator might be able to find a piece that they want to add to their collection. Distortions Unlimited makes all of their props by hand in Greely, Colo. When you take a look at how intricately detailed these props are, you’ll see how truly insane that is! Keep in mind that Distortions Unlimited advertises their products as “handcrafted” in the USA; meaning that they may source inputs elsewhere.
Bonus: Candies
Perhaps the most essential part of Halloween is candy for trick-or-treaters. For the definitive round-up of Halloween candies Made in America, check out our blog post from 2023 here.
