Steelwrist launches QuantumConnect, the next-generation tiltrotator control platform

Steelwrist announces the launch of QuantumConnect, the next-generation tiltrotator control platform for Steelwrist tiltrotators.

QuantumConnect represents a major leap forward in tiltrotator control technology, combining groundbreaking innovations with a modular system architecture. At the heart of the platform are state-of-the-art components that make installation, operation, and support easier than ever. The new A9 joysticks set a new industry standard thanks to improved ergonomics and functionality. Operators can choose between two or three rollers, benefit from a 5-way mini joystick, and enjoy comfort-enhancing features such as heated grips. Safety and productivity are further improved by tactile feedback, which provides operators with immediate haptic signals from the system.

Thanks to the modular system design, QuantumConnect can be easily adapted to any excavator make or model. Specially designed modules, such as QIO modules, convert CAN data into analog and digital signals, enabling smooth integration with machine functions and external systems. The Tiltrotator Control Module, integrated directly into the tiltrotator, ensures precise control of valves and sensors, while the AUX module provides flexibility in managing additional hydraulic functions such as blades, stabilizers, or offset booms. If not directly integrated into the excavator HMI, an optional compact in-cab touchscreen display gives operators a clear overview of system status and notifications, ensuring transparency without adding complexity.

Connectivity is embedded at the core of the QuantumConnect platform. The new Connectivity Gateway module ensures wireless communication with sensors and components, while also managing 4G connections for cloud backup, over-the-air software updates, and remote diagnostics. The result is a system that is not only more powerful and versatile but also future-proof, fully prepared for next-generation tiltrotator hydraulics and MiC 4.0 integration, and perfectly compatible with leading machine control providers.

Easy installation with InstallMate

With QuantumConnect, the days of complex and time-consuming installations are over. The platform has been designed from the ground up to make tiltrotator installation faster, more predictable, and easier to support in the field. The combination of modular components, compact design, and machine-specific wiring eliminates the need for complex customizations during installation.

At the center of the installation process is the new InstallMate app, which guides technicians step by step in multiple languages. Predefined models for each excavator make and model ensure straightforward system configuration, while cloud-based storage allows machine settings to be safely saved, cloned, and restored across multiple excavators. InstallMate also provides installation support in the local language, further reducing complexity and helping technicians deliver a consistent experience. Since installation guides are continuously updated based on global user feedback, the system becomes easier and more efficient to implement over time.

Designed for the operator with connectivity for maximum uptime

The QuantumConnect platform has been designed with a strong focus on the operator. Every element, from joystick ergonomics to system integration, has been developed to make the excavator easier to control, more efficient, and safer to operate. Proportional control of all tiltrotator functions comes standard, with automatic calibration of hydraulic valves ensuring smooth, precise movements while optimizing fuel efficiency. Operators can create individual profiles and adapt the system to specific tools, while the ToolRec function wirelessly detects which attachment is connected and automatically adjusts tiltrotator settings.

Another key feature is safety. LockSense, Steelwrist’s next-generation sensor-based safety locking system, is fully integrated into QuantumConnect, providing clear and reliable confirmation of safe locking on both the machine coupler and the tiltrotator coupler. Optional track and wheel steering control allows operators to steer the excavator without releasing the joysticks, saving valuable time and improving ergonomics during continuous work.

In addition to ergonomics and safety, connectivity ensures that QuantumConnect consistently delivers maximum performance. The QuantumConnect app for iOS and Android enables operators and service teams to connect wirelessly to the control system, eliminating the need for cables or adapters. Thanks to cloud-based backup, machine settings are never lost, and over-the-air updates ensure that the latest improvements are always available. Immediate access to remote support minimizes downtime and keeps machines productive. Integration with OptiLube, Steelwrist’s automated lubrication system, provides continuous monitoring of lubrication performance, sending alerts when it is time to replace the lubricant cartridge, removing guesswork and manual maintenance.

Availability

QuantumConnect will be gradually introduced to global markets throughout 2025, starting with selected Steelwrist tiltrotator models and expanding through the company’s worldwide dealer network. The platform is fully supported by both the QuantumConnect app and the InstallMate app, available for iOS and Android. Thanks to compliance with global regulations, including RED and FCC, and readiness for future industry standards, QuantumConnect is poised to meet the needs of contractors and fleet owners worldwide.
