Song Leaves HD Hyundai Construction to Lead Doosan Bobcat North America
The new president of North American operations will also serve as the chief operating officer for global Doosan Bobcat.
Former HD Hyundai Construction Equipment executive Edward (Heejoon) Song has been named the president of Doosan Bobcat North America.
Song started his position October 21 and is also serving as the chief operating officer of South Korea-based Doosan Bobcat Inc.
He replaces Mike Ballweber as the president of Doosan Bobcat North America. Ballweber retired July 31 after nearly 30 years at the company. Doosan Bobcat CEO and Vice Chairman Scott Park served as interim head of the North American operations.
Song’s duties include daily management of the company’s global business, overseeing companywide execution of operations and leading Bobcat’s North American business.
Song has 20 years of experience in the construction equipment industry. He previously served in leadership roles at Doosan Infracore before and after Doosan sold the construction equipment business to Hyundai. Bobcat was not part of the sale and remained with Doosan.
Doosan Infracore later changed its name to Develon as a subsidiary of HD Hyundai Construction Equipment. Song served as CEO of Doosan Infracore North America before it became Develon and most recently was chief sales officer for HD Hyundai Construction Equipment.
“Bobcat has a strong legacy, a respected global brand and employees and partners who are deeply committed to customer success,” said Song. “I am honored to join the organization and look forward to working closely with employees, dealers and customers around the world. Together, we will build on the company’s strong foundation through disciplined execution.”
