Sin Hua strengthens fleet with Volvo SD120, A40 and EC360 for Changi T5 works

New machines support large-scale earthworks with a focus on productivity, operator comfort and long-term value.  www.volvoce.com Volvo Construction Equipment has strengthened its partnership with Sin Hua Civil Engineering & Construction Pte Ltd. following the delivery of multiple new machines to support major earthworks at Changi Airport Terminal 5. The Singapore-based contractor has taken delivery of three New Generation A40 articulated haulers, three EC360 excavators and two SD120 soil compactors. The machines are deployed on earth and base works for taxi pavements and aircraft parking bays under the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) project, with Hwa Seng Builder Pte Ltd as the main contractor. Supporting large-scale earthworks at Changi T5 At the Changi T5 site, around three million cubic metres of earth material is being moved. The SD120 soil compactors complement Sin Hua’s existing roller fleet to ensure consistent compaction quality. The EC360 excavators handle excavation and loading, working closely with the new A40 articulated haulers to optimise material flow. The latest A40 units also operate alongside six A40s added to the fleet in mid-2025. Performance, reliability and value Sin Hua selected the SD120, A40 and EC360 after evaluating market alternatives, citing a balance of performance, reliability and long-term value. The SD120 marks Sin Hua’s first use of Volvo soil compactors in Singapore, while the A40 was chosen for its proven durability. The EC360 supports Sin Hua’s evaluation of Volvo’s New Generation excavators, recognised for value-for-money and modern control systems. Key features delivering immediate on-site benefits include: SD120: Integrated compaction gauge for accurate, consistent results EC360: Electro-hydraulic positive control for smooth, precise operation A40: Spacious, high-comfort cab with excellent visibility for safer, more productive hauling Operators have reported positive feedback on ease of use and visibility—particularly with the A40, which improves coordination during loading and dumping. Backed by responsive local support Across all machine types, Sin Hua reports strong uptime, supported by Volvo CE Singapore’s responsive after-sales service. Ivan Zhang, Director at Sin Hua, said: “These machines are essential tools that help Sin Hua grow to the next level. We see this as a long-term partnership and hope to continue working closely with Volvo CE Singapore as our business expands.” David Choo, Head of Market Singapore at Volvo Construction Equipment, added: “We’re proud to support Sin Hua on one of Singapore’s most significant infrastructure projects. The New Generation A40, EC360 and SD120 demonstrate how the right machine mix, backed by strong local support, can deliver real results on site.” Looking ahead, Sin Hua plans to add further machines as project requirements grow, reinforcing its confidence in Volvo CE’s products and local support capabilities. www.volvoce.com Powered by Induportals Media Publishing
