Sany's SMHC160 Material Handle Revolutionizes Port Efficiency with High Performance and Green Technology
Renowned for their high efficiency and energy saving, three 160-ton SANY crawler material handlers were recently delivered and working in a large coal port. In Europe, three 160-ton SANY crawler material handlers were recently delivered and working in a large coal port. Renowned for their high efficiency and energy saving, they won a reputation from our customers. The kangaroo portal crane has been the main force of bulk material handling at ports. As bulk material logistics develops rapidly, shipowners and wharf owners expect a faster terminal transit speed, which requires the harbor equipment to be more efficient and eco-friendly. In this context, the SMHC160 developed by SANY Marine was born to meet these needs. Unmatched safety and efficiency Safety is always a top priority for SANY’s equipment. Driven by the double engine, the equipment can still work even if the unilateral engine fails. The whole machine boasts the dynamic anti-overturning technology self-developed by SANY and an automatic cabin fire-extinguishing system to maximize safety. With reinforced crawlers and thrust wheels, the 175-ton machine can handle loads of up to 260 tons. Equipped with 7 cubic meters of shell grab coupled with a 90-degree turn time of fewer than 30 seconds, the SMHC160 is renowned for an average operational efficiency of 800 tons per hour, almost double that of the MQ4035 portal slewing crane. Strong passability and high flexibility Outfitted with a gantry crawler chassis whose gauge reaches 6 meters, the equipment has a high passability allowing it to pass through trains and dump trucks. Featuring a 360-degree rotation on the spot and a maximum gradability of 40%, it offers excellent adaptability. In addition, the equipment can be configured with either a 26-meter or 35-meter boom, offering a maximum working radius of 36 meters, a height of 38 meters, and a depth of 16 meters, satisfying the requirements for dockside operations for vessels up to 70,000 tons. Energy saving and cost reduction With the engine directly connected to the main pump, the transmission loss has been reduced by 12%. At the same time, the equipment also boasts an energy recovery system and electronically controlled positive flow control system, which improves energy-saving efficiency by 15% and reduces energy consumption by 5% respectively. The SMHC160 material handler combines high efficiency with impressive safety and energy-saving features, representing SANY’s advanced product power. Its ability to handle bulk materials with reduced energy consumption and increased operational speed makes it a key player in achieving greener and more efficient port operations. As we continue to drive innovation and support sustainable practices, SANY remains dedicated to delivering solutions that meet the evolving needs of the global maritime industry. www.sanyglobal.com Powered by Induportals Media Publishing
