Potain MCT 105 topless tower crane debuts at EXCON 2025

Manitowoc highlights transport efficiency, higher reach, and urban jobsite versatility.  www.manitowoc.com Manitowoc captured strong industry attention at EXCON 2025 with the launch of the Potain MCT 105, the latest addition to its topless tower crane portfolio. The unveiling reinforced Manitowoc’s focus on innovation, productivity, and efficient lifting solutions for modern construction sites. Manufactured at Manitowoc’s Pune facility in India, the MCT 105 H5 builds on the proven erection concept of the MCT 85 while offering greater reach and higher lifting performance. The crane delivers a maximum capacity of 5 t and can lift 1 t at the tip of its 60 m jib, making it well suited to high-rise and dense urban projects. With a freestanding height of up to 46.1 m and a compact footprint, it supports efficient operation where space is limited. A major highlight of the MCT 105 is its transport efficiency. The complete top-slewing assembly—including the 60 m jib—can be shipped in just four truckloads or containers, significantly reducing logistics costs and speeding up site installation. The crane shares several components with the widely deployed MCT 85, including the 4 D3V3 trolley winch, offering travel speeds of up to 8 m/min at 50 Hz. Optional hoist configurations provide lifting speeds of up to 105 m/min and a 500 m drum capacity, enabling flexibility across a wide range of applications. “As projects increasingly demand wider coverage with compact equipment, the MCT 105’s enhanced load chart and transportability will be a major advantage in India and other emerging markets,” said Chris Eastham, General Manager of Manitowoc’s Pune facility. “It’s a strong solution for jobsites that require longer jibs and fast, efficient setup.” The launch at EXCON 2025 featured live demonstrations, technical presentations, and interactive discussions with Manitowoc’s engineering and product teams, with visitors highlighting the MCT 105’s performance, intelligent design, and versatility. www.manitowoc.com Powered by Induportals Media Publishing
