Manitowoc Debuts Hybrid Grove Crane and EnCORE Innovations at Vertikal Days 2025

Manitowoc is set to debut the Grove GMK5150XLe hybrid crane, showcase a rebuilt vintage Hydrocon, and demonstrate Grove CONNECT and Potain CONNECT innovations.  www.manitowoc.com Manitowoc is set to make a powerful impression at Vertikal Days 2025, bringing together cutting-edge technologies, a strong focus on customer support, and pure crane craftsmanship. The show takes place September 11-12 at Newark Showground in Nottinghamshire. Manitowoc will occupy Stand 419. Headlining the booth will be the Grove GMK5150XLe plug-in hybrid all-terrain crane. The all-terrain crane was launched at bauma 2025 and is now making its UK debut. It delivers 150 t of capacity and a 68.7 m, seven-section boom, with performance that matches that of the regular diesel-powered Grove GMK5150XL. At the same time, it delivers low-emission operation through a fully electric mode for on-site lifting, and the crane’s 160 kWh battery pack can be charged while driving, allowing it to top up on the way to the next jobsite. Options include a 9.6 m/16.2 m bi-fold swingaway jib, an 8 m boom extension, and a 6 m jib extension. Manitowoc brings hybrid innovation and total lifecycle dedication to Vertikal Days 2025. Crane enthusiasts will need to stop by the booth to see a fully refurbished Hydrocon 15 t Clansman crane from the 1970s. Hydrocon was a crane company founded in Glasgow, Scotland, in the 1940s and ceased operations in the late 1980s. Manitowoc’s EnCORE program completed a chassis-up restoration of the vintage crane on behalf of J&D Pierce Contracts. The project is not only a testament to the expert craftsmanship of EnCORE engineers, but it also exemplifies the team’s ability to extend the lifecycle value of older cranes. A Grove GMK3050-3 will also be on the stand. This 50 t capacity all-terrain crane is known for its fast road speeds, its ability to be quickly set up on jobsites, particularly in tight areas, and for its simplicity – operating as a single package with no support vehicles required. Mann Crane Hire, an Isle of Man-based company, owns the model on display. Manitowoc will reinforce its aftermarket support for customers in the region with a plethora of services and material support functions, including: Live demonstrations of the Grove CONNECT™ and Potain CONNECT™ remote diagnostics platforms. Aftermarket parts information showcasing the full stock available through UK service centers in Buckingham and Barnsley. Details on the company’s UK-based training programs for owners, operators, and technicians of Grove and Potain cranes. An appearance by the retro Potain service van, a crowd favorite from bauma, highlighting Manitowoc’s service legacy. Information on open service technician roles at the Company. Wire ropes for tower cranes from Certex, which supplies all Potain cranes across the UK. A display of a BCS camera system. “We have a lot in store for visitors to the Manitowoc stand this year, and we’re looking forward to showing them our progress across the board — designing and engineering new cranes, supporting customers on the jobsite with new technologies, and keeping cranes in the best condition with our maintenance services,” said Pier Domenico Ravera, vice president sales for mobile cranes in Europe and general manager of Manitowoc Cranes UK. www.manitowoc.com Powered by Induportals Media Publishing
