The crane, supplied to contractor Premform, has been climbed to a height of 348 metres on the Pinnacle SkyTower project, a 110-storey residential tower under construction on Toronto’s waterfront.
On June 16, Cropac Equipment, Terex Tower Cranes dealer for Eastern Canada, supplied a CTT 472-20t flat-top tower crane for lifting operations on the Pinnacle SkyTower project.
SkyTower is currently the tallest residential building under construction in Canada. Located on Toronto’s waterfront, it forms part of the Pinnacle One Yonge development. The 110-storey building will add residential, hospitality and commercial space, with a Le Méridien hotel planned at podium level.
“We are proud to have partnered with Premform, contractor of the project, from the earliest stages of the development by providing a lifting solution capable of supporting the project’s ambitious schedule and height requirements,”
Said Joel Hunt, Senior Sales Representative at Cropac Equipment.

“Development of this scale requires lifting capacity, great tower versatility, and the ability of adapting to evolving site conditions, while maintaining high-performance throughout every phase of construction. Included in the supply package, Cropac provided additional mast sections, tie-collars and related climbing components,”
Added Hunt.
The crane was progressively climbed alongside the structure using an anchoring system with 16 internal ties, reaching a final height of 348 metres.
The CTT 472-20t operates with a 55-metre jib and a tip load capacity of 6.24 tonnes. It is equipped with an 80 kW hoist, with a maximum lifting speed of 196 m/min, and has been used for material handling across the project’s different construction phases.
Installed on the project for four years, the crane is expected to be dismantled in the third quarter of 2026.
