FPT Powers the New JCB Fastrac 6000 Series with the Proven N67 Engine

When JCB unveiled the first Fastrac more than three decades ago, it redefined what a farm tractor could be. Designed to work hard in the field and move fast on the road, the Fastrac became known for its full suspension, all-wheel disc brakes, and high-level comfort, features that made it unlike anything else in the agricultural world. Over the years, it has evolved through several generations, pushing the limits of performance while maintaining its signature high-speed capability. Today, the story continues with the launch of the new Fastrac 6000 Series, powered by FPT Industrial’s N67 engine.

FPT Industrial, the powertrain brand of Iveco Group, is supplying its latest N67 unit for the newly introduced JCB Fastrac 6000 range. The collaboration marks a significant milestone for both manufacturers: JCB gains a modern, efficient, and emissions-compliant engine, while FPT strengthens its position as a preferred supplier to leading agricultural brands. The N67 engine, part of FPT’s well-known NEF family, has a displacement of 6.7 liters and delivers up to 250 kilowatts, or roughly 340 horsepower, at 1,950 rpm, with maximum torque reaching 1,398 newton meters at 1,400 rpm.

Beyond raw performance, the N67 brings to the Fastrac the kind of technology that aligns with modern sustainability goals. Its EGR-free combustion system simplifies the engine layout and enhances reliability, while the patented HI-eSCR2 after-treatment ensures compliance with stringent Stage V and Tier 4 Final emission standards. FPT engineers developed the NEF series to handle the harshest agricultural and construction conditions, combining compactness, fuel efficiency, and longevity. Since its debut in 2001, more than two million NEF engines have been produced for applications ranging from tractors and excavators to marine and power generation units.

The decision to equip the new Fastrac with an FPT powertrain underscores JCB’s ongoing pursuit of high performance paired with dependability. Known for its top speed, JCB even holds a world record for the fastest modified tractor, reaching over 153 mph, the Fastrac has always symbolized power and precision. The new 6000 Series continues that tradition, offering operators a balance of productivity, comfort, and efficiency that defines the Fastrac name.
