Develon has secured a major contract to supply up to 70 DD130 crawler dozers to the Polish Army, a deal that pushes the brand beyond conventional construction applications and into one of Europe’s most demanding equipment markets: military engineering.
The tender, led by Poland’s 3rd Regional Logistics Base, covers 50 dozers with an option for an additional 20 units. According to Polish defence media outlet Defence24, the selected bid was submitted by MW Rail S.A., with the machines to be supplied under the Develon brand of HD Hyundai Group in collaboration with Glomak Polska, Develon’s Polish national distributor.
The contract is notable not only for its scale, but also for its timing. Develon introduced its dozer range to the European market only two years ago. Winning a military supply programme of this size places the DD130 in a different competitive arena, where procurement decisions are shaped by durability, transportability, operational continuity and the ability to meet highly specific technical requirements.
For the Polish Army, the machines are expected to support a broad range of military engineering tasks. These include excavation, ground levelling, earthmoving, terrain preparation, short-distance material pushing and work with blades, rippers, towing devices and other specialised attachments. The tender also required the machines to operate continuously under load for at least 10 hours.
That matters because military engineering equipment is increasingly judged not only on machine performance, but also on the supplier’s ability to adapt standard production models to mission-specific requirements. In this case, Develon had to address the Polish Army’s technical conditions while working from a production-based machine configuration.
According to the company, this included adjustments to parts of the frame structure and optimisation of motor displacement to increase maximum travel speed. The machines also require military-specific specifications, including defence-colour painting, adding complexity beyond a standard commercial delivery.

Delivery execution will be another key test. Develon plans to supply the initial 50 units, and up to 70, including the optional quantity, by November 2026. With special configurations, military painting and strict quality expectations involved, the programme will require close coordination between production, engineering, quality, supply chain, sales and product management teams.
The order also comes as European governments continue to place greater attention on defence readiness, infrastructure resilience and military engineering capability. In that context, the Polish contract gives Develon a stronger reference point in public procurement and strategic equipment markets, while also reinforcing the DD130’s position in a segment traditionally dominated by long-established dozer manufacturers.
A Develon spokesperson said:
“This contract is more than a major sales achievement. It is a clear demonstration of the DD130’s performance, quality and Develon’s ability to respond quickly and effectively to demanding customer requirements in Europe.”
Beyond the immediate sales volume, the contract may carry longer-term value for Develon’s European strategy. Military and public-sector tenders often demand a combination of technical compliance, supplier reliability and lifecycle support. By meeting those requirements in Poland, Develon is positioning itself not only as a construction equipment manufacturer, but also as a potential partner for defence-related equipment, infrastructure recovery and other strategic applications.
The company said the project also reflects the importance of cross-functional collaboration inside the organisation, particularly where customer requirements extend beyond standard product specifications. For contractors, fleet owners and public-sector buyers, that adaptability is becoming increasingly relevant as equipment purchases are tied more closely to specialised operating conditions, regulatory expectations and mission-critical uptime.
With deliveries planned through November 2026, the Polish Army contract will now become a practical test of Develon’s ability to execute a large-scale, customised supply programme in Europe. For the DD130, it is also a high-profile validation: a dozer launched recently into the European market is now set to work in one of the region’s most demanding operational environments.
