DAF Launches the New XG and XG+ Electric with over 500 km of Autonomy

Following the success of the XD and XF Electric models, awarded International Truck of the Year 2026, DAF takes a further step in electric mobility with the introduction of the new XG and XG+ Electric. These are vehicles that combine a range of over 500 km with zero emissions and a level of comfort and cab space superior to anything currently on the market.

DAF now provides a comprehensive line-up of fully electric vehicles designed to meet a wide variety of operational needs. The range includes the XB Electric models in 12, 16, and 19 tonne versions for urban distribution, the XD Electric for urban and regional distribution, and the XF Electric for medium- to long-haul transport.

Powertrain and range

The new XG and XG+ Electric models are powered by the PACCAR EX D2 electric motor, with power outputs ranging from 270 to 350 kW (up to 480 hp) and 2,400 Nm of maximum torque. The system includes two separate electric motors and a three-speed transmission, ensuring smoother gear changes and maximum driving comfort.
Between 3 and 5 battery packs can be installed, in different positions on the chassis, depending on the application.

The zero-emission range of over 500 km on a single charge is guaranteed by the version with 5 battery packs installed. In a well-planned operating scenario, it’s possible to cover more than 1,000 km per day. This is made possible by the efficiency of the PACCAR EX-D2 powertrain, its intelligent battery management system, and the vehicle’s optimised aerodynamics. The XG and XG+ vehicles feature a curved windscreen and smooth surfaces to improve aerodynamics, along with other features such as side skirts, deflectors, fenders, and digital cameras replacing traditional mirrors.

Space and comfort

One of the most distinctive features of the new XG and XG+ Electric is the cab.
The cabs are 33 cm longer than the XF, with an internal volume of 12.5 m³ and an interior height up to 2.2 meters. The beds are a constant 80 cm wide along their entire length, offering first-class comfort.

The new DAF XG and XG+ Electric offer superior driver comfort and exceptional driving performance.

Latest-generation LFP batteries

DAF has chosen LFP batteries for all its electric vehicles. These batteries are cobalt- and nickel-free, have high thermal stability, and can be recharged up to 100% daily without degradation. They come with an 8-year warranty, and in the three-pack version, can be charged from 10% to 80% in approximately 45 minutes.

Integrated services

DAF supports the launch of the new models with a full package of services.
These include smart charging stations and energy storage systems from PACCAR Power Solutions, DAF MultiSupport for customized maintenance contracts, PACCAR Connect for digital fleet management services, and PACCAR Financial for financing solutions.
The XG and XG+ Electric models are available in 4×2 tractor and 6×2 rigid configurations, featuring a steered rear axle, providing a wide range of options.
