Magna, the newest brand in the Terex Materials Processing (MP) portfolio focusing on high-output crushing and screening solutions, has officially expanded into the Japanese market through a new distribution partnership with Kurimoto Ltd., a company with more than a century of manufacturing heritage and deep industrial expertise.

Founded in 1909 and headquartered in Osaka, Kurimoto has long been recognized for its commitment to Monozukuri — Japan’s tradition of “manufacturing with passion and precision.” Building on decades of engineering excellence, Kurimoto will now represent MAGNA’s range of high-capacity machinery for mining, aggregates, recycling, and large-scale contracting applications across Japan.

A Strategic Expansion into the Japanese Demanding Markets

This agreement marks a major step in MAGNA’s expansion across Asia, positioning the brand to serve Japan’s fast-evolving infrastructure and recycling industries, where efficiency, reliability, and environmental performance are key.

Neil McIlwaine, Business Line Director at MAGNA, commented:

“Kurimoto’s reputation for engineering excellence and deep understanding of Japan’s industrial landscape makes them an ideal fit for MAGNA. Their ability to deliver tailored solutions across diverse sectors ensures that MAGNA equipment will be deployed where it delivers the greatest impact — from high-volume recycling operations to precision aggregate processing and demanding mining environments.”

The partnership adds MAGNA to Kurimoto’s growing portfolio of Terex brands, which already includes Finlay (mobile crushing and screening) and MDS (heavy-duty trommels and static recycling systems). This expansion consolidates Kurimoto’s position as a trusted provider of world-class machinery and enhances Terex’s footprint in Japan, enabling customers to access localized sales, service, and technical expertise through a single, experienced partner.

MAGNA: The brand for the High-Output Processing

Launched globally in 2024, MAGNA was created to redefine large-scale materials processing by combining Terex’s proven engineering heritage with new levels of power, durability, and automation. The brand focuses on high-output crushing and screening systems designed for the world’s most intensive material handling operations — from open-pit mining to aggregate mega-quarries and large recycling plants.

The MAGNA range is built for continuous, heavy-duty performance. Its machines deliver exceptional throughput capacity and are engineered for maximum uptime and minimal maintenance. Each unit integrates advanced telematics, hybrid power solutions, and next-generation digital monitoring to improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions, and provide operators with real-time insights into productivity and machine health.

This technology-driven approach reflects Terex’s broader mission: to design equipment that enables safer, more sustainable, and more intelligent material processing for a global industry facing both growth and environmental responsibility.

Kurimoto is a recognized player in Japan

Kurimoto brings over a century of experience to its role as MAGNA’s distributor in Japan. With a history rooted in heavy manufacturing, materials engineering, and plant infrastructure, the company has evolved into one of Japan’s most respected suppliers of industrial systems and processing equipment.

Masashi Nakamura, General Manager at Kurimoto Ltd., stated:

“We are honoured to represent MAGNA in Japan. Having worked closely with other Terex brands, we are already familiar with the quality and reliability of their equipment and the strength of their digital and aftersales support. This new partnership allows us to offer customers a broader range of high-output machinery that aligns with Japan’s focus on safety, precision, and sustainability.”

Kurimoto’s existing presence in the construction, mining, and recycling sectors provides a strong foundation for MAGNA’s market entry. Their nationwide service network ensures rapid parts delivery, operator training, and technical support for MAGNA equipment across Japan.

MAGNA’s entry into Japan reinforces Terex’s long-term strategy of regional specialization and customer proximity. As part of the Terex Materials Processing division, MAGNA benefits from a global network of design centers and manufacturing facilities across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific, ensuring consistent quality and innovation at every stage of production.

Japan’s Next-Gen of Processing Performance

Japan’s industrial landscape is undergoing a transformation — driven by government investment in infrastructure renewal, urban redevelopment, and advanced recycling initiatives aimed at reducing landfill dependency. MAGNA’s entry, through a partner as established as Kurimoto, aligns perfectly with these national priorities.

From high-precision aggregate production for concrete and asphalt to large-scale demolition recycling, MAGNA’s product portfolio offers Japanese operators the power, reliability, and intelligence to meet tomorrow’s challenges with confidence.

Neil McIlwaine added:

“The launch of MAGNA in Japan through Kurimoto demonstrates our commitment to investing where our customers are. Japan is known worldwide for precision and performance — two values that define both MAGNA and Kurimoto. Together, we will deliver solutions that raise the bar for what’s possible in materials processing.”
