Visitors to the inaugural T3 Expo explored cutting-edge solutions, from trucks and trailers for transporting heavy machinery and materials, including large, prefabricated elements, to pick-up trucks and vans ideal for construction professionals. The event also highlighted customised vehicles, such as concrete mixer pump trucks, boom and bucket trucks, water and fuel trucks, and mobile workshops, alongside an array of other transport solutions that meet the specific needs of the construction sector. “Organising a new trade fair is always a courageous initiative, which is shared by those companies and trade associations willing to invest in its success. New construction truck solutions Among the exhibitors, OVIP, a DAF dealer, introduced the new DAF XF 4-axle construction truck featuring pneumatic suspension, designed for improved handling and comfort. Cavitruck, representing Renault Trucks, meanwhile, highlighted the versatility of its Renault D18 model equipped with a Fassi loading arm, emphasising its suitability for transporting compact construction equipment. La Meccanica SF demonstrated its expertise by integrating HiCrane hydraulic cranes into a range of tipper trucks, while Benelli Crane & Platform showcased custom modifications that transform standard trucks into specialised boom and platform vehicles tailored to precise customer specifications. In addition, Ravasini displayed an Astra truck configured as a water truck, reflecting its specialisation in providing custom superstructures that support earthmoving operations – ranging from fuel and lubrication supply to dust suppression and mobile workshops. Advanced trailers on display In the trailer category, Trailix – a newcomer to the market celebrating its first anniversary this November – showcased its custom low-bed trailers designed for transporting construction machinery. The company also acts as a distributor for the Turkish semi-trailer brand Seyit Usta, expanding its offering in the European market. Meanwhile, global leader in the special transport trailer industry Faymonville partnered with dealer Tagliaferri Giuliano to present three best-selling models. Leading the lineup was the Max 200-210 series low extendable flatbed tow trailer, which can extend up to 21m – making it an ideal choice for transporting heavy machinery and oversized loads. The display also included the Max 600 3-axle trailer, designed to pair seamlessly with tipper trucks on construction sites, and the versatile Max 510 with a detachable gooseneck, prized for its reliability in moving construction equipment as well as oversized cargo such as tanks and large containers. Innovation in ground protection and telematics In ground protection solutions, LK2, a distributor for Isokon, introduced the H and X series of Isotrack temporary ground protection mats. Designed to ensure safe access for heavy vehicles to jobsites with challenging soil conditions, these mats boast a cellular core that withstands compressive loads exceeding 605 psi. The interlocking system ensures a stable and continuous work surface, enhancing safety on uneven terrain. Telematics specialist OUTSET also made waves with its SECURETANK system, designed to monitor and alert for unauthorised access or vandalism targeting fuel tanks, providing real-time updates to fleet managers.

These are the first in Europe to use a rugged or standard smartphone (for trucks) or tablet (for excavators and wheeled loaders) with Bluetooth technology, eliminating the need for a fixed display. The systems can integrate with tyre pressure monitoring, offering a streamlined approach to enhancing operational efficiency and safety, reflecting the broader trend of digitalisation in the transport sector.
Vehicles for the modern construction professional
In the smaller vehicle category, Toyota Motor Italia emphasised its commitment to electromobility, presenting electric versions of its Proace, Proace +, and Proace City light commercial vans, alongside the Hilux GR Sport II diesel-electric hybrid pick-up truck. Synchro System, meanwhile, showcased its expertise in transforming commercial vans into mobile workshops, offering fully customisable storage solutions, workbenches, and equipment for professionals such as plumbers, electricians, and other trades in the construction industry.
The return of T3 Expo in 2026
“As we close this first edition, the enthusiasm and participation we’ve seen from key players reaffirm our belief that there’s a strong appetite for an event dedicated to commercial vehicles and tailored solutions for their upfitting needs,” Potestà said. “Our ambition is for T3 Expo to become an unmissable biennial event, attracting international participants who – recognising Italy's strategic role in European manufacturing – aim to deepen their business ties with suppliers to the road transport sectors.”
10th edition of GIS in 2025
Before then, GIS will return for its 10th edition between 25–27th September 2025. Launched in 2009, GIS has grown year on year, evolving into the largest European gathering dedicated to cranes, aerial work platforms, telehandlers, forklift trucks, port and industrial handling equipment, and heavy transport vehicles. The last edition in 2023 drew 18,000 visitors to meet with 432 exhibitors spanning 71,000m2 at Piacenza Expo.
“The milestone 10th edition of GIS promises to be the biggest and best yet, offering even more opportunities for networking and collaboration among industry professionals.
