Komatsu will host an open house on Wednesday, April 8, at its Komatsu West Sacramento branch as the company looks to tighten ties with contractors and fleet owners following a recent territory transition in Northern California. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 5400 Raley Boulevard, Sacramento, CA 95838.
The open house is positioned as a meet-and-greet with the team now responsible for the region, plus a chance for customers to see how Komatsu plans to strengthen local service coverage, parts availability, rental support and equipment access under its company-owned dealer model.
Komatsu West’s Northern California expansion
Komatsu formally expanded its company-owned Komatsu West organization into Northern California in late 2025, opening branches in Sacramento and Fresno and taking over former Gee Heavy Machinery locations. Komatsu said the move is aimed at delivering more local expertise, inventory and service support in the territory.
Komatsu Company-owned West now lists 13 locations across five states, including three in California (Bakersfield, Fresno, Sacramento).
What contractors can expect at the Sacramento open house
The Sacramento open house will feature:
• New and pre-owned Komatsu equipment on display
• Direct access to parts, service and product specialists
• Information on equipment technology and fleet management tools
• Networking with local industry professionals
• Complimentary lunch
Todd Gaspers, Vice President of Operations at Komatsu West, said the goal is “consistent support and clear communication” so construction, quarry and forestry operations can plan work with confidence.
Uptime is the real product
For Northern California contractors, the need is the service bay, and knowing who answers the phone when a machine goes down mid-week. Komatsu has leaned hard into the company-owned dealer approach in the western U.S., and Sacramento is a visible test of how quickly the network can deliver tighter response times and clearer points of contact after a territory change.
