Fuel savings because of the power-split XPower travel drive The fuel efficiency of the XPower wheel loader generation is due to the power-split XPower travel drive. At low speeds and for short loading manoeuvres, the hydrostatic drive takes charge, whereas at higher speeds and on uphill stretches, the mechanical drive is active. Together, the two drives always transmit 100 percent of the diesel engine power; only the ratio of the two drives changes. This means that the wheel loader always operates at maximum performance and with optimal efficiency, regardless of the application. The result is fuel savings of up to 30 percent compared to conventionally driven wheel loaders.
