Develon and Etec Launch New Electric Excavator Range

Develon, known as Doosan Construction Equipment, introduces a new range of electrically powered excavators to support the shift toward cleaner, quieter, and more sustainable construction technology.

The first model, a DX160WE-7 wheeled excavator, was presented to the public during the Technische Kontakt Dagen trade fair, in June 2025 in De Ratelaar, Sint-Oedenrode.

The introduction of this machine marks a milestone in Develon’s roadmap for emission-free machines in Europe. The new models are based on Develon’s well-known platforms, recognized for their reliability, power, and comfort.

In this project, Develon, in collaboration with the Dutch company Etec Zero Emission, has integrated electric drives into various Develon models, resulting in high-performance machines with zero emissions.

Electric versions of popular models

The current offering includes various Develon machines with electric drive: the DX160WE-7 wheeled excavator and two crawler excavators based on the DX225LC-7 platform. Customers can choose from several battery options, including extra-large capacity batteries that allow the machine to operate a full day without recharging.

The new electric models are fully covered under the Develon brand and Develon support. This means customers can rely on products with the same service and distribution they know from the Develon name.

Focused collaboration

Develon developed this electric line in close collaboration with Etec, a specialist in electric drive systems for mobile machinery.

In this integration, Etec contributes its expertise in energy storage and electric platforms, while Develon provides product direction, branding, and customer interaction.

Designed for today’s job sites

As interest in low- or zero-emission alternatives increases in Europe and particularly in Northern Europe Develon offers a solution that combines environmentally friendly performance with the practical needs of the job. The machines are quiet, efficient, and built for tough conditions, allowing for a reduction in carbon and noise emissions without compromising productivity.
