Compact excavators for high-productivity job sites
Volvo Construction Equipment introduces the ECR90, EC65 and EW65 to improve operational efficiency, total cost of ownership and operator comfort across key construction sectors. www.volvoce.com Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has expanded its compact excavator portfolio with the new generation ECR90, EC65 and EW65 models, designed for applications in utilities, general construction, agriculture and landscaping. The new machines replace the previous ECR88, EC60 and EW60 models, introducing measurable increases in power, hydraulic performance and operational versatility, with a specific focus on reducing total cost of ownership. Enhanced performance in a compact format The 9-ton ECR90, featuring a reduced tail swing design, is intended for work in confined spaces while maintaining performance levels comparable to larger machines. Compared with its predecessor, it delivers a 28% increase in engine power, a 15% increase in hydraulic pump torque and up to 13% higher digging forces. A cab that is 30% larger contributes to a more ergonomic working environment. The 7-ton EC65 (crawler) and EW65 (wheeled) models offer engine power increases of 4% and 6% respectively, along with a 9% improvement in boom lifting capacity. Increased auxiliary hydraulic flow – up to 100% more on the EC65 and EW65 – supports efficient use of advanced attachments, including tiltrotators, improving precision and cycle times. Operational efficiency and attachment integration All three models support the full range of Volvo compact excavator attachments and feature improved compatibility with third-party tools. The wheeled EW65 reaches a top speed of 30 km/h and offers selectable work modes to adapt performance for travel, digging or stationary operations. Lower operating costs and digital support The machines are engineered to minimize downtime through extended service intervals, such as 8,000 hours for diesel particulate filter cleaning and 1,500 hours for hydraulic return filter replacement. Easy access to grouped service points and larger fuel tanks reduce maintenance time. Standard or optional advanced telematics support operational monitoring and future digital integration. Operator comfort and safety The fully redesigned cabs include high-definition touchscreen displays, Bluetooth® connectivity, camera views and customizable attachment settings. Optional air-suspension seats, wider adjustable armrests and a tilting side console improve ergonomics and safety during long working days. The new ECR90, EC65 and EW65 are available to order in Europe, North America, Oceania, Korea and Japan. They represent another step in Volvo CE’s strategy to deliver compact machines with high efficiency, measurable performance gains and technology integration tailored to the evolving needs of modern construction sites. www.volvoce.com Powered by Induportals Media Publishing
