Caught between a box grader and a motor grader for your next grading job?

Roadrunner Equipment says it has the solution with its new dual-blade grader attachments for skid steers, compact track loaders and tractors.

“The release addresses a long-standing gap in the attachment market, where contractors and landowners have typically faced a choice between underpowered box graders and the considerably higher cost of full-sized motor graders,” the company says.

Operators can raise and lower each side of the blade independently via hydraulic cylinder up to 4 inches for such projects as road maintenance, site prep and landscaping.

The operator can achieve desired results in a single pass without additional equipment, according to Roadrunner, based in New Holland, Pennsylvania.

The grader attachment can also handle paving preparation and material spreading.

  • Electronic fingertip control via skid steer joysticks.
  • Depth-indicator rod monitors blade position from the cab.
  • 10-degree cutting edge.
  • Serrated front edge for breaking up compacted materials.
  • Smooth rear edge for finish grading.
  • Replaceable AR400 steel skid runners.
  • Powder-coat finish.

The company also offers accessories like bolt-on ripper teeth for breaking up hard-packed surfaces and a bolt-on wheel kit for increased front-end stability.

A dual skid-steer-mount and three-point-hitch version is available.

Roadrunner says the new attachment is “a direct alternative to standard box graders, which generally lack the blade geometry required for precise crowning, while also offering a substantially lower cost of entry compared to full-sized motor graders.”

With its independently adjustable blade sides it can perform road crown formation, drainage slopes and surface leveling.

The company adds that the grader is designed to “withstand the mechanical demands of grading hard-packed surfaces, rocky terrain, and unpaved roads,” while the dual-blade system “maintains consistent blade pressure and alignment under load.”
