Manitowoc launches record-breaking Potain MCT 1105 from Zhangjiagang plant

Manitowoc has launched the MCT 1105, a new model of its Potain cranes, which follows the MCT 1005 M50, which became the Chinese facility's largest-ever topless crane. The crane is the largest Potain topless model from Manitowoc’s Chinese factory and follows hot on the heels of the MCT 1005 A maximum capacity of 50 t at 21.8 m radius when configured with the full 80 m jib. Like the MCT 1005 M50, the MCT 1105 has a maximum freestanding height under hook of 69.7 m, a maximum capacity of 50 t, and a maximum working radius of 80 m. However, it offers a substantial increase in tip capacity. The MCT 1105 will lift up to 11 t at the end of its 80 m jib, vs the 8 t lifted by the MCT 1005 M50. The newer model also lifts its maximum 50 t capacity to a longer radius than the MCT 1005. When equipped with the full 80 m jib, the MCT 1105 can lift 50 t to 21.8 m radius, a full 5 m further than the MCT 1005 can handle the same load when working with the same jib. There are three counter jib options, to give maximum flexibility for owners, with 15 m, 20 m and 25 m choices available. With over 1,070 m of rope on the drum, the MCT 1105 shares the exact same mechanisms as the MCT 1005, delivering precise and controllable payload handling. Vertical lifting speed can reach 88 m/min, while the 25 DVFC 25 trolley can horizontally transport 50 t at infinite speeds up to 33 m/min. “The advantages of topless cranes are proving invaluable as we strive to answer our customers’ continued requests for greater flexibility by improving performance along the jib. This new landmark crane once again sets the standard for what’s possible with a topless design,” said Leong Kwong-Joon, regional product manager for tower cranes at Manitowoc. www.manitowoc.com Powered by Induportals Media Publishing
